What Is a Trailer?

A trailer is a short video that makes people want to play a game. In 30 seconds to 2 minutes, show the best of Taming.io!

Imagine someone who has never heard of Taming.io: after your trailer, they should want to play right away!

What Can You Film?

Everything in Taming.io, not only the dungeons! A few ideas:

- The biomes: forest, winter, desert, ocean, volcanic, darkness...
- The biome bosses: Trent in the forest and all the others. Defeat them with your pets and your friends!
- Your house: decorate it, take care of your pets, grow your trinkets, visit your neighbors.
- The dungeons: the traps, the skeletons and the Liches.
- Your pets: tame them, make them evolve, ride them.
- The clans and the bases: capture the totems, build your base, defend it or raid another one.

RULES

1.30 Seconds to 2 Minutes

Your trailer must last between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. Short is good: the best trailers often last about one minute!

2.Landscape or Portrait

Make your trailer in landscape (16:9) or in portrait (9:16), ideally in 1080p: 1920x1080 in landscape, 1080x1920 in portrait. Both count the same!

You made both versions of your trailer? Send both: they count as one trailer. To play in portrait on a phone, turn off Force Landscape in Settings > Interface.

3.Real Taming.io Gameplay

Most of your trailer must be real gameplay, recorded in Taming.io. Your drawings, animations and effects are welcome, but the game must be the star!

- No footage from other games.
- No AI-generated videos or images.
- Keep it friendly for all ages: Taming.io is played by everyone!

4.No Text in Your Video

Don't add any text to your video: no title, no subtitles, no captions, no credits, not even your name or the Taming.io logo. Only the images of the game!

And no watermark: remove the logo of your editing app.

This rule is very important: a trailer with added text can't win! Put your name in your post instead.

5.No HUD, as Much as Possible

Hide the HUD as much as you can: the inventory, the minimap, the leaderboard, the chat, the buttons... Open the HUD Editor and set the Opacity of the elements to 0%: they disappear from your screen. Keep only the Settings button, small and in a corner: during a game, it is your only way back to the HUD Editor.

READ ABOUT THE HUD EDITOR

For even cleaner shots, turn on Disable Public Chat in Settings > Interface to remove the chat bubbles, and turn off Damage Points in Settings > Graphics.

6.No Music, No Voice

Don't add music or a voice: we won't listen to your trailer, only the images count! The sounds of the game can stay.

7.Your Own Trailer

Your trailer must be new, and made by you. One trailer per Tamer: you made a better one? Delete your previous post and post the new one.

Team creations are allowed! When you submit your trailer, list every member of your team with their #ID. If a team wins, you can split the prize however you want.

How to Submit Your Trailer

1. Publish your trailer in public on YouTube, TikTok, X, Instagram or Reddit, with the hashtag #tamingio and a link to taming.io in the description.

2. Post the link of your video in the #trailer-competition channel of our Discord, with:
- your #ID, the number next to your username,
- the names and #IDs of your teammates, if you made it as a team.

3. If you win, we will ask you for the original file of your trailer, in the best quality, without the compression of the social networks.

Too young for the social networks? Ask a parent to post it for you!

What Will We Look At?

- Does it make you want to play? That's the most important!
- The first seconds: do they catch the eye right away?
- The gameplay: do we understand what Taming.io is?
- Clean shots: as little HUD as possible.
- The editing: the rhythm and the cuts.
- Creativity
- Image quality

Tips for a Great Trailer

- Start strong: the first 3 seconds decide if people keep watching. Start with the action!
- Show what makes Taming.io unique: tame a pet, make it evolve, ride it, fight a boss together, build your base, conquer a dungeon with your clan.
- Let the images speak: short shots and a lot of action.
- Play with friends: a big fight with several Tamers and their pets looks epic!
- Record in 1080p and 60 fps: OBS Studio is free and works great.
