Catch Butterflies While You’re Away!

GAME UPDATE

A new helper has woven its way into the Housing system: the Butterfly Catcher! Craft it, place it inside your house, and let its tiny resident spider catch butterflies for you while you are away.

This new furniture is perfect for players who need insects for their recipes, but do not have the time—or simply do not want—to spend every game searching for them manually.

What Is the Butterfly Catcher?

The Butterfly Catcher is a new piece of functional Housing furniture. Once crafted and placed inside your home, it allows you to obtain butterflies without having to hunt for them in the different biomes yourself.

A small spider lives on its web and takes care of the work for you. Give it the resource it needs, leave it inside your house, and come back later to see whether it has caught something.

Feed the Spider with Bruised Apples

The Butterfly Catcher needs a Crate of Bruised Apples to operate. Deposit one on the web to give the spider everything it needs to begin hunting.

Once supplied, the catcher can produce a random butterfly every 24 hours. When a butterfly has been caught, you must return to your house and collect it manually before preparing the catcher for another hunt.

Collect Butterflies Even While Offline

The greatest advantage of the Butterfly Catcher is that it continues working while you are offline. You do not need to remain inside your house or keep the game open.

Simply load the web with a Crate of Bruised Apples, go about your other activities, and check back later. Your house can now help grow your insect collection even when you are not actively playing.

A Random Butterfly Every Time

The butterfly produced by the catcher is random, so every collection can bring a different surprise. This makes it a useful passive source of insects for players who need butterflies for potions and other recipes.

It is also a great way to slowly build up your collection without depending entirely on specific biome conditions, rare events, or long insect-hunting sessions.

Perfect for Busy Tamers

The Butterfly Catcher is especially useful for players who:
- Do not have much time to search for insects.
- Prefer focusing on combat, taming, or base building.
- Need a steady supply of butterflies for crafting.
- Want their house to remain productive while they are offline.

Just remember to keep enough Crates of Bruised Apples available, collect each captured butterfly, and regularly restart the process.

Let Your House Do the Hunting

With the Wisp Jar collecting Motes and the Butterfly Catcher gathering insects, your house is becoming more useful than ever. Instead of spending all your time searching the map, you can now prepare resources passively and collect them whenever you return home.
